Keith’s Ramblings

29th January 2008

Hey. Hope everyone’s ok.

I’ve spent this evening finally sitting down and evaluating what needs to be done ahead of the big move, and while the list isn’t as big numbers wise as I thought it would be, it’s still a lot to get through.

For instance, I’ve been a habitual hoarder over the years, and I know for a fact that a lot of the stuff I have will not be making the move with me. It’s going to be a interesting exercise in trying to work out what can go with me, what can stay here for the time being (to come up eventually), and what can be got rid of, either through sales or outright binning.

The sorting (does that sound a bit Harry Potter-ish?!) will probably happen over the weekend, then I can get on with the rest of the list.

Thanks for reading,

27th January 2008

First of all, I want to apologize in advance for my intermittent postings. I was never the best blogger at my old site, so I’m not expecting it to change with this one.

Anyway, on Friday, I met up with a Pastor friend of mine to talk about the plans for London. He was very positive about everything, and gave me some vital advice as I begin to step forward.

I ended up spending this morning at his church, and his message was so relevant for me, I have a feeling he wrote it after seeing me on Friday.

A New Dawn

For a few months, I’ve been sensing that God is about to move me into a new season of ministry. This has coincided with me beginning to partner with a church in the US that meets on the Internet, as well as in “physical” campuses across the US.

In September, I heard from a friend there that a family from one of the campuses felt that God was calling them to move to London to start a campus here in the UK. I was initially excited about the idea, which only grew in the intervening months.

In November, I received an email from a Dana Byers, saying that she and her family had moved to the Wimbledon area of London, and how she’d been searching for a LifeGroup on the Internet Campus to attend while they were in London, and found the same group that I’d been attending. She was then amazed to hear from the group leader that there was a attendee living just three hours away! I quickly discovered that this was the couple that my friend had mentioned to me. We started chatting via email and met in the LifeGroup.

In January 2007, there was a conference in London which I had planned attend as a delegate, and I decided that this weekend would also be a good opportunity to meet Dana & Chris (her husband), and to find out exactly what their plans were for a possible campus. The conference was later cancelled, but by this stage, I’d already decided to just focus on meeting the Byers.

Over the whole weekend of the trip, God was beginning to wipe away some of the misconceptions I’d built up in my mind about London (mainly around the fact that I always felt it was too big to comfortably live in as a city, but I saw a glimpse over the weekend of how efficient the transport system really was).

Since the weekend, I’ve been praying about making a possible move to London, and God has been confirming this. So, I’ve decided that I will be moving to London within the next three months in order to help the Byers achieve their God-given dream of a LC.tv Campus in London. In the short term though, I will be “commuting” between Cardiff and London on at least one Sunday a month to help with the “Sunday Night @ Hillside” service.

I would appreciate your prayers as I make this move.
